The minute one begins to think about the word ‘failure’ it is very often your natural reaction to think that you are not making the grade and perhaps it is time for you to simply give up or that this failure is final and you have not succeeded and it is over.
However this might be the feeling which many people get, but I am of the belief that it is through failure that we are able to learn and use this growth so as to become stronger and better. You see, by simply applying the Kaizen Principle to our failures we are able to use these failures to make us stronger and wiser.
When one truly goes and looks at the true meaning of the word failure, we find that it is defined as
Failure
-
A person or thing that is unsuccessful
-
Nonperformance of something required or expected
-
An insufficiency
-
The fact of not reaching the required standard
Now when one looks at these definitions of failure, many will focus simply on the first and truly believe that it is due to their own short comings that they failed, but they neglect to take notice of the other parts of the definition for failure which point out that the failure might be due to other reasons such as nonperformance, insufficiency or not being able to reach a required standard.
Why is it that we always immediately think that this failure is unchangeable? By applying to Formula for Riches we should soon be able to realize that this failure can still be turned into a success if we know how to apply the formula correctly. It might be that you need to invest in yourself a bit more so as to gain more knowledge about what it is you are trying to do, or perhaps, as I often tell my Alchemist Mentoring students, you have not put in the TEM$.
Think for a second about the words of one of the greatest inventors ever, Thomas Edison, he failed numerous times when inventing the light bulb. But did he accept this failure and simply give up? No, his response to failure was “I have not failed. I have just found 10,000 ways that wont work. I am not discouraged, because every wrong attempt discarded is another step forward.”
You see, this is what is required when one wants to become a Wealth Creator, if Edison had simply given up, where would the world be today? Once you are able to adopt this same type of attitude and perseverance you will soon be able to be rid of the negative feelings associated with failure and be able to move forward and truly find the life of abundance and happiness which is every individual’s right so long as they understand how to achieve it.
No one wants to believe that individuals such as Thomas Edison and Henry ford were failures, but on route to their success they too encountered many failures, but due to them having the correct mindset and belief in what they were doing, they were able to turn these failures into success.
Perhaps this statement by Henry Ford will be able to make this fact even more concrete in your mind
“Failure is only the opportunity to begin again more intelligently”
You should now be able to grasp the concept that you only truly fail when you make the decision to give up. Any other failures can be remedied and improved so as to be successes, but when you consciously make the decision to give up, it is then that you have failed.
The minute which you are able to grasp the concept that failure is an event and not your personal limitation, the sooner you will be able to move forward and continue down the road to success. William D. Brown probably said it the best when he said
“Failure is an event, never a person”
There are many such quotes from people who have been very successful in their lives and each of them has experienced failure first hand on their journey to success, the difference was that they grasped the mindset of a Wealth Creator and were willing to accept that their failures were events and not an indication of who they were. They allowed these failures to help guide them in the direction of their success.
Perhaps one of the most famous quotes which is able to express this concept is that of Mickey Rooney when he said
“You always pass failure on your way to success”
It is by adopting this mindset that these people were able to reach their success, their pure determination and belief in their goals was enough to keep them going past their failures and onward to their success. You must understand that their will be times where failures will confront you, but it is at these time which you need to apply the Kaizen Principle and keep pushing forward and improving so as to attain your goals.
There is truly power in failure, use this power to motivate yourself to become the best you can be and soon you too will be able to enjoy the joys and rewards which accompany success.
