When all is going well in your life, it is very easy to be enthusiastic and motivated, but what about the times where you find yourself facing more difficult times and the road ahead is full of obstacles? The truth of the matter is that we will all have times in our lives when we are met by such obstacles and it is how you choose to handle these situations, which makes all the difference as to how you come out the other side.

Your enthusiasm and drive will have a great influence on this outcome as they are the two factors which will strengthen and feed your will to succeed even in the most difficult situations. There is a wise old saying which goes, ‘it does not matter how you fall, it is how you choose to stand up which makes the difference’.

We all know that it can sometimes be difficult to maintain ones enthusiasm when it feels as if everything is working against you, but here are a few tips as to how you might go about boosting your enthusiasm levels in such times.
  • No mountains out of molehills – Try not to let the smaller, insignificant obstacles which might be surrounding the bigger issue draw your attention. Always try to be sure that the issues which you are focusing your attention on really matter and will bring you closer to solving the main issue.

By keeping your focus on the overall destination which you are trying to achieve, you will often find that these smaller and less significant issues will have a way of sorting themselves out while you keep your focus on the goal in mind.
  • Visualization – As I teach my students on my Alchemist Mentoring Program, learn how to visualize, and then use this ability to be able to see what ever goal it is which you are experiencing difficulty with as being complete and how great it will be for you when you have already achieved this goal.

By using this kind of positive visualization, you will find that your mind will remain focused on success and that while your focus is on the end result, the faster you will be able to achieve it as your mind will handle the difficulties which you might experience along the way in a far more positive and productive way.
  • Stop stressing – The moment you allow your stress levels to take over your brain function the less energy and enthusiasm you will have to resolve the situation with. Try to eliminate stress from your mindset and rather use that energy to concentrate on finding creative ways to solve the problem.

When one allows stress to occupy your mind you become far less effective at solving the actual problem at hand. As I teach my Kaizen Wealth students, any negative emotions such as stress lead to negative mindsets and as it is well known this has a very detrimental effect on how you go about achieving the goal which you have set for yourself.
  • Procrastination the thief of time – I am a firm believer in the Kaizen Principle, which states that we should strive for constant and never ending improvement. So to effectively make this principle work, procrastination would be your greatest enemy.

By allowing ourselves to keep putting things off, we are in effect robbing ourselves of potential growth which could have taken place. The fact that the things which we normally procrastinate about are those which challenge us to get out of our comfort zone and from my experience, it is when we are out of our comfort zone that we experience the most growth.
  • Focus – At all times try to remain focused on what it is you are trying to achieve, constantly remind yourself of the reward you will receive when you manage to achieve this goal and always keep it within your focus. By doing this you will find that your enthusiasm will continually be fueled and it will be easier to carry on.

  • Don’t stagnate – At all costs avoid stagnation or allowing your actions to become to routine, stagnation can often lead to a struggle of it own if not controlled, so try to find new and interesting ways to approach your goal so as to keep it interesting and alive.

  • Be open to new ideas – Always keep your mind open to new ways to do things as creative thinking is always accompanied by enthusiasm. Try to allow yourself to think outside the box as this will very often lead to solutions which will be far more effective than continually trying the same old techniques.

If you take the time to absorb just a few of these ideas, you will soon find that your enthusiasm will become self refueling and it will take a lot less effort on your part to be able to find ways to fuel it. Enthusiasm is a very powerful driving force and if you learn how to stimulate it then you will already have overcome many of the obstacles which might be lying in your life path.

If you have found new and interesting ways to stimulate your enthusiasm, I would love to hear about them. Just remember, there are no obstacles which can not be overcome if you are willing to take it one step at a time but on a constant and forward basis.
