The Educational System: Friend or Foe?
This week I have something to share with you all which I feel or rather know needs to be heard and understood, we are all falling victim to the killing of creativity by the education system, the media, the government and most of the financial institutions. Now you may be asking yourself, “What is Hannes on about now?” well let me take a bit of time to explain where I am coming from.
We as the human race are all born with individual and unique talents but these talents are rapidly suppressed as soon as we enter the education system as we are forced to accept certain areas as the important areas of education, such as math, science and technology. The question I have here is why is this so?
Yes, these are important areas for us to learn about, but important for whom? You see, the education system has been designed to educate the students in such a way that the next generation of workers will be there to fill the needs of the market. Now if you ask me this is killing the creative talent in a lot of our school going children and robbing them of the potential which they have to become a far greater contributor to society than simply another executive in a big company who lives their life according to what they are told and believe to be true.
Take me for example, I was never a good student and in fact failed my matric, the reason for this was that I was unable to adapt to the information in, information out system which they wanted their students to work by. I often found myself in the classroom but I was never actually there and when I was I was reprimanded on a regular basis for asking the wrong questions.
Now this where the fault of the education system comes in, they are not looking to educate us in our best interest or so as to bring out our full potential, but rather in a manner which is more geared towards satisfying what the business world or other conventional systems require.
The minute a child tries to stray from the course of this type of education and ask ‘the wrong questions’ they are labeled as a problem student or as being stupid. Well if not following the main stream means that you are stupid, well then I will be happy to say that I am stupid and will be more than content to carry on being stupid as if being stupid has got me to where I am today, then obviously being stupid pays off.
I personally believe that some of the greatest minds are been lost in the system on a yearly basis as many of the students in our education system who refuse to conform to the expected norm are labeled as having learning disorders or attention deficit disorder, but this may not be the case at all.
I take myself as an example, I really battle to concentrate and be creative when I am sitting still, in fact when I need to prepare a speech or do my most creative thinking, you will not find me sitting thinking as I need to move and be active for my creative juices to really flow and be of any benefit to me. Now when I was at school, this would never have been possible and the result was that I found myself rebelling against the system and concentrating my energy elsewhere where it felt more beneficial.
Please do not understand me wrong, even my own two daughters went through the schooling system as not all that is taught by the system is wrong as we all need to learn to read and write and the basic principles of math and all of the other subjects, my point is the way that these institutions are teaching stifles creativity.
In our modern age, why is it that so many people have failed to become financially free and lead the life of a Wealth Creator let me tell you why. We are taught first of all by the education system that it is wrong to make mistakes, then we are continually convinced by the media that half truths are true (see my video about this), then we are told by advertising and various other sources that there is no way we can be responsible for our own financial freedom and that we must rely on the advice of the professionals.
This is the route which we are taught and within ourselves believe to be true and it is this mindset which is keeping the majority of the world’s population poor. Now please believe me when I tell you that I am not the only one who holds this point of view, other well educated people who themselves were involved in the education system share the same emotion as I do and I would strongly recommend it that you watch this video clip by Sir Ken Robinson where he shares his views on this subject. Click Here to watch the Video
I as a wealth Creator know that what I am sharing with you today is true as I am living proof of it and the constant positive results which I am able to achieve by applying the Formula for Riches is even further proof.
We as individuals are allowing ourselves to be kept poor by the misguidance which we allow ourselves to accept as the truth which we are being fed by the education systems, media, advertising and corporate world. This however is not completely our own fault, but it becomes our responsibility the moment we are made aware of this fact and refuse to take action so as to correct the way we allow ourselves to be influenced by such nonsense.
What I guess I am trying to get across this week is that we need to be aware of the fact that there, contrary to mainstream thinking, is actually no wrong or right and we have been programmed to believe that to make a mistake is wrong. I on the other hand believe that if you never make a mistake, that you are not learning, and if you are not learning, you will not be moving forward which is in direct contradiction with the Kaizen Principle.
All I am trying to achieve this week by writing this newsletter is to begin to get you to understand that we are all actually falling prey to this negative influence of the half truths which we are being taught and led to believe to be true, now that I have shared this with you, it now is your responsibility to decide what to make with what I have shared with you and how you will decide to act upon it.
So long as you allow this way of thinking to have a hold over the way in which you act, or rather allow it to prevent you from taking action, you will never become a Wealth Creator!
I know I have been very ‘in your face’ in this newsletter but if you take the time to watch my video clip (Click Here to Watch the Video), you will see quite clearly that it is something which I feel very passionately about and the reasons why it is so.
There has been a lot of content added to my blog page (www.hannesdreyer.com), so please be sure to go and have a look at what is new and please do not forget to leave your comments, so that I know what you think and if there are any ways which you feel I could improve it so that it can be of more value to you.
I am also very busy adding new content to the www.propertyschool.co.za website which I think will be of great value to all and this will be getting updated on a regular basis from now on.
To all of you who completed the questionnaire relating to the internet marketing. I was overwhelmed by your response. Please know that I really appreciate the feedback. I have started to group the questions into categories. I plan to answer them and thinking of maybe a dedicated website or page to do that. I have your e-mails and I will keep you informed.
Well now that I have allowed myself to speak to you all about something which lies very close to my heart, allow me to wish you all a very harmonious and happy weekend and may the knowledge we share help all of us to grow.
To all your wealth
