Very often when people think of forgiveness, they think “forgive and forget” but this need not necessarily be the case, to forgive is not always easy and to forget even less so. The truth behind it all is that your ability to forgive will have great benefits for you even if you are unable to forget

One is very often inclined to cling onto the transgressions of others and to allow these transgressions to eat up our own energy and time by allowing ourselves to continually dwell on these transgressions and allowing them to invoke negative emotions within us which have a very negative all round effect on us. As I teach my students on the Kaizen Wealth Course, your thoughts are what you bring into manifestation in the world around you.

It is for this reason that learning the ‘art of forgiveness’ is so important as any of these negative thoughts which you entertain will manifest into negativity in your own life. Is it really worth it to let the deeds of another bring negativity into your own life?

Below I will briefly explain how you can effectively learn to forgive so as to be rid of these negative thoughts and to be able to move on without letting negativity take a hold on your life. Not only will this have a great impact on what happens in your life and around you but it will also help you to find peace within yourself.

Focus on Forgiveness

If something which has happened or something which someone has done is taking up a large part of your daily thought in a negative way, then it is time for you to make the decision to forgive them. Not only will you feel better once you have done so but it will also be very beneficial to your own health as carrying resentment or anger can very easily lead to depression, self doubt or blame and a variety of other mentally negative outcomes.

To forgive somebody does not mean that you necessarily have to forget the pain which they have caused you, but rather that you are simply no longer allowing it to have a negative effect on your life. When you choose to forgive, it simply means that you are no longer granting that person the negative power which they have over you anymore and that you are choosing to move on with your life without their negative actions having an effect on you any longer.

Fundamental Forgiveness

Forgiveness is a very personal thing and it can only come from within you, now there may be situations where this might seem just to be impossible, but in situations such as these you will need to dig deep and realize that in finding the ability to forgive within yourself, you will be freeing yourself of a burden which is actually not yours to carry.

It is up to you to take the mental decision to make peace with what has happened as it is in your best interest. You will truly need to evaluate the situation and make the conscious decision to let go and no longer allow this person or their actions to have any form of power over you and the only way to do this is to truly forgive them in your heart and mind.

Many times the one whom you need to forgive could be worried less about your forgiveness, but it is not about them, this time it is about you and what is best for you. They will have to take responsibility for their own actions and it is your responsibility to not allow their actions have a negative effect on you.

Release and Let Go

Once you have made the decision to consciously forgive somebody, it is then time for you to actually release that negative energy and let it go. This is sometimes the most difficult of all, but the fact of the matter is that the important stuff is never easy.

Release that negative energy which is stealing your thought time and do not allow yourself to fight any further mental battles over what has happened, a good way to do this is not to dwell on the past but rather concentrate on the present and the future.

This might all be very difficult in the beginning, but the more you practice it, the easier it will get. After all, forgiveness is all about you, you are doing this for your own benefit and so that this negativity will no longer have an effect on your life. The moment you allow yourself to continually relive the events which are having this negative effect on you, the longer you are granting that person power over you. Free yourself and learn to forgive!
